Reflection
Sometimes when we see a terrible accident or hear about
people who are being persecuted, we may think that such
things will never happen to us. Some people in Jesus' time
believed that those who suffered such tragedies and injustices
were being punished because they were great sinners. Jesus
sets them straight in today's gospel reading. He says that
suffering comes from injustice in our world.

RESPONSES
Gospel Acclamation:
Glory to you, Word of God, Lord
Jesus Christ!
Repent says the Lord; the kingdom of
heaven is at hand.
Glory to you, Word of God, Lord
Jesus Christ!
Communion Antiphon:
The sparrow even finds a home, the
swallow finds a nest wherein to place
her young, near to your altars, Lord
of host, my King, my God!  How
happy they who dwell in your house!
For ever they are praising you.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Stations of the Cross are being held at 7pm in the Church every Friday during the
period of Lent.
LENTEN RECONCILIATION
Our Parish 2nd Rite Reconciliation will be held on Thursday 25th March at 7pm
in the Church.  There will be at least four visiting priests in attendance to help our
liturgy run smoothly.
SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME 2010
Parents and Guardians it is that time of the year to enrol your child/children in the
Sacramental Programmes for 2010.  If your child is in the appropriate grade level
and you consider that they are ready for this important step on their faith journey
then you will need to fill in the forms that are found in the foyer of the church and
place them in the box also found there.  If you have any queries with regards to
any of the Sacraments please contact either Fr. Gavin (9593 4670) or Cath Flynn
(9593 4066).
The Sacrament of Confirmation Mass will be celebrated on Trinity
Sunday 30th May 2010 at the 9am Mass with Bishop Don Sproxton.

PROJECT COMPASSION
SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT
As Christians we are called to walk with those who are in need.  This week’s story
introduces us to Teneille, from Derby in Western Australia.  Limited job
opportunities, low family literacy levels and poor health and housing are some of the
issues affecting poor school performance amongst Indigenous children in the area.
Teneille participates in a Caritas Australia-supported program that is empowering
children to attend school, have healthy and nutritious food and improve the school
performance amongst the area’s children.  Your donation to Caritas Australia’s
Project Compassion helps to work towards the goal of ensuring primary education
for all children.
Project Compassion Envelopes are still available in the foyer of the Church if
you haven’t taken one yet.
NEW SPECIAL MINISTERS
We are planning another Re-commitment Mass at 9am next Sunday 14th March
for any Special Ministers who have not already been re-commissioned as required
every two years.  Also if you are new to the Parish and are a Special Minister we
would love to hear from you as well.  Please write your name on the
clipboard in the foyer if you wish to participate at this Mass.
SPECIAL MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST INDUCTION COURSES
There are four induction sessions that will be given for NEW Special
Ministers of the Eucharist during 2010.  It is necessary to attend only ONE
of the Archdiocesan workshops.  If you are interested in becoming a
Special Minister please see Fr Gavin.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Volunteers are needed to assist with the running of Children’s liturgy.  This is
a once a month commitment and all materials and program are provided.
You will be paired with another parishioner who has experience in running
Children’s liturgy, so there is no need to think you cannot do it.  Please help
keep this important ministry of our parish running by volunteering once a
month.  Contact Fr Gavin or Alison Cousins on 9593 6640 to register your
interest.  Thank you
MEDITATION
Meditation will no longer be held in the church on Wednesday evenings, but it
continues to be held every Tuesday at 7pm at Penola in Penguin Road,
Safety Bay.
